Libby Pfoutz

Libby Pfoutz, 13 years old of Ashton,IL, crossed over the rainbow bridge peacefully on Friday November 18th, 2022 at 1346 in her home, while surrounded by her loving family members Grandma Chris and Auntie Amy. Libby was born in 2009 to a breeder in Tennessee and adopted by her parents Brent and Valerie Pfoutz as a puppy just a couple months after she was born. Libby was “the runt” of the litter, but you would never have known. She was the most beautiful cross between an Old English/American Bulldog you ever saw. Because of this Libby was always guarding of her food, she would take a mouthful and attempt to relocate herself away from her bowl to fully chew it, all the while dropping pieces every step of the way, similar to Hansel and Gretel leaving a trail of breadcrumbs. Libby resided in North Carolina with her parents for the first year and a half of her life and enjoyed a couple of trips to the beach while living there. Libby then moved back to IL with her parents and resided in Ashton for a short time until her family found a house in Amboy, IL. Libby resided in Amboy with her family for 3 years. Her family then moved to Oregon, IL where Libby resided for a year and a half. Libby then came to live with her Grandma Chris in Ashton at 6 years of age and was excessively spoiled daily from that day on. Libby was the best dog a family could have asked for. She was the sweetest dog God ever created. In addition, Libby was smart, sassy and stubborn as could be at times. She was definitely a protector and loved to stand in the bay window and bark at any human, dog or loud truck that was in her view. She let them know she lived there and that they did not stand a chance if they would dare get too close to her house or family member(s). She liked to chase and bark at the neighbors black cat who was, without a doubt, Libby’s least favorite creature on the planet. We would try and chase that cat on multiple occasions but we were never quite fast enough. She also despised lawn mowers and the garbage truck. Libby loved her treats ~ milk-bones, yogurt, ice cream and peanut butter were her favorites, she would literally eat an entire scoop of ice cream in one swift grab and swallow. Libby also loved to play in the snow and she enjoyed eating it too. She loved to give her Auntie Amy kisses on the lips, and she may of been known to growl and bite when she had enough of her Auntie Amy at times also. She loved her Grandma Chris more than anything in the world and that love was definitely mutual. Libby’s “puff bark” was the cutest sound you ever heard. Libby enjoyed small frequent walks from her house to Auntie Amy’s and she loved to smell everything while on these walks. She had the cutest scuffed up black nose from the continual sniffing she did while outside on a potty break or on one of her walks to visit her Auntie Amy next door. She would definitely let her Grandma Chris know when she was ready to return home by continually puff barking or pawing at her leg during our early morning coffee visits. We would frequently have to cut these visits short because it was certainly Libby’s world and we just lived in it. Libby’s favorite past time was sleeping on her “fluffy” bed or her “old” bed that she had nearly her entire life. Libby is survived by her Grandma Chris, Grandpa Chuck, Aunt Amy, Dad Brent Pfoutz, Mom Valerie Pfoutz and Siblings Raegan and Roman Pfoutz. We were all lucky enough to have had Sweet Libby in our lives for as long as we did, but quite honestly, it still was not long enough. Libby, you will be missed forever. No dog will ever come close to comparing to you. We will love you forever and we will keep you in our hearts forever. Rest in peace Sweet Pup, we all look forward to the day we can hug, pet and kiss your sweet face again in heaven.

Jax, age 11 years old, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on January 22nd, 2026. Cremation services accorded. Arrangements entrusted to Whispering Willow Pet Funeral & Cremation Services. I loved to watch Jax run laps around the yard almost habitually. I'm truly going to miss morning in bed snuggled up while I drank my coffee, us sitting together by the fire and my favorite, watching him play with other dogs. Jax really loved sitting in his chair he had outside and no matter where I went, he had to follow me. Jax hated to be alone and if he didn't have to be, he wasn't. He was such a big lover to everyone he ever came in contact with. He will be truly missed. Until we meet again on The Rainbow Bridge.

Beans, age 8 weeks old, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on January 21st, 2026. Cremation services accorded. Arrangements entrusted to Whispering Willow Pet Funeral & Cremation Services. She was the spunkiest little girl and always so happy. She was born right before thanksgiving, and I was so thankful for her. She had the loudest little bark for how tiny she really was. She is survived by her mother and father but is running happily across the flower fields at the Rainbow Bridge with her grandparents. She is very deeply missed, nonetheless.
